Key Knot: The Diagonal Double Half Hitch (DHH)
This project relies entirely on the Diagonal Double Half Hitch (DHH) Knot, which is used to create the beautiful curved lines of the heart.
Lark's Head Knot: Used only to attach your cords to the clasp.
Diagonal Double Half Hitch: This knot requires a Holding Cord (the cord that sits at an angle) and Working Cords (the cords you knot around the holding cord).

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare and Attach Your Cords (Lark's Head Knot)
Take one 80 cm cord and fold it in half.
Attach it to the swivel clasp using a Lark's Head Knot.
Repeat with the remaining five cords until you have six cords attached to the clasp. You now have twelve hanging strands.
2. Form the Top Curve of the Heart (Diagonal DHH)
This step requires you to create two symmetrical curved lines that meet in the center.
Center Cords: Identify the two central cords. These will be your main filler cords for the very center of the heart, and they will stay mostly straight down.
Left Curve: Take the cord immediately to the left of the center (the 5th cord from the left) and angle it diagonally down and to the left. This cord becomes your Holding Cord.
Knotting: Using the four cords to its left as Working Cords, tie a Double Half Hitch Knot around the angled Holding Cord with each one. This creates the first curve of the heart.
Right Curve: Repeat the process on the right side. Take the cord immediately to the right of the center (the 6th cord from the right) and angle it diagonally down and to the right. Use the four cords to its right to tie DHH knots around it.
3. Join the Curves and Shape the Sides
The curves from the left and right should now meet at the top of the center cords.
Join: Tie a final DHH Knot where the two angled Holding Cords meet in the very center, securing the top arch.
Continue the Sides: You will now have two lines of cords hanging down the sides of the heart. Take the new outermost cords and continue using the DHH knot down a short distance to narrow the piece toward the point of the heart.
4. Finish the Design (Gathering Knot)
Once the piece is the desired length (usually about 6-8 cm of knot work), bring all the remaining cords together.
Secure the entire bundle tightly using a Gathering Knot (or a simple wrapping knot) just below the final macrame knot.
Trim the tail cords below the Gathering Knot to create the fringe.
Fringe: Brush out and trim the fringe evenly for a soft, neat finish.
