Step-by-Step Instructions

This project primarily uses the Lark’s Head Knot to create the full, petal-like effect of the daisy.

1. Prepare the Cord

  • Cut one short cord (approx. 12 inches / 30 cm) for the hanging loop.

  • Cut the remaining cord into six equal pieces (about 1.5 feet / 45 cm each) to create the body of the daisy.

2. Attach the Cords to the Ring (Lark's Head Knot)

  • Fold one of your six body cords in half, and use a Lark’s Head Knot to attach it to the wooden ring.

  • Repeat: Attach all six body cords evenly around the ring using Lark's Head Knots. You will now have 12 hanging strands.

3. Form the Daisy Design

  • This step is about spacing. Push the knots closely together around the ring. The Lark's Head Knots naturally form a tight, rounded shape that mimics petals when fully compressed.

  • Tie the short 12-inch cord onto the top of the ring with a simple knot to create the hanging loop for your car mirror.

4. Add the Bead and Finish

  • Gather all 12 loose ends of your body cords and thread them through the hexagon bead. Pull the bead up snugly against the macrame work.

  • Secure: Tie a simple, tight knot immediately under the bead to secure it in place.

  • Trim & Scent: Trim the excess cord below the knot to your desired length. Add a drop of your favorite essential oil to the cotton cord below the bead.
